Washer Dryers and Steam Irons - The Perfect Team

If we are honest with ourselves no one particularly likes having to do the laundry, whilst washing machines can handle most of the work we still need to take our clothes out and hang them out to dry. Once that is done we also have to iron our clothes in order for them to be wearable again. The process can take a lot of time and effort and with many people having pretty busy schedules sometimes you may find that you don't have time to get all of this done.

Luckily most of our household appliances are now equipped with features to help make the whole process quicker and more convenient. Many washing machines now have a tumble drying function as well as being able to wash our clothes, not only this but many models can be programmed to dry our clothes as soon as the machine is done washing them without anyone having to be present. This fully automated process can produce clean and most importantly dried clothes that can be almost ready to wear straight out of the machine.

Most items of clothing will need ironing before they can be worn and with older irons this may have been difficult as some items of clothing may have been more difficult to get the creases out of than others which could result in us spending more time on each item of clothing slowing the whole process down.

There are now new ironing devices called steam generators that can iron clothes much more easily, this is because steam generators tend to have a much larger water reservoir for creating the steam that makes ironing a simpler task. Smaller irons will have a tank for filling with water but this can be spent up pretty quickly especially if you have a lot of clothes to iron. Rather than having to stop regularly to refill the water a steam generator could last much longer allowing you to quickly handle a large amount of washing.

There are many appliances that now have multiple functions that can help you save time and money, these laundry appliances are often the focus of these advancements as we try to get as much as possible done in a short space of time to hopefully save money on electricity and water.

If you want to cut down your energy usage as well as the amount of time it takes to get the laundry done then perhaps you should consider these new appliances that can help you out.

Cordless Curling Irons and the Benefits of Using Them

If you really love the looks of various celebrities who curl their hair, then maybe it's time to get your hands on some cordless curling irons. So many women love their hair and wish to achieve all kinds of hairstyles to match outfits or simply to make themselves feel good. No matter what your hair is normally like, with the right tools you can emulate those curly looks.

Curling irons have been developed to make getting those curls as easy as is possible. In fact, these days there are so many different kinds of iron available. This includes triple barrel, brushes and flat irons, and another type are also known as cordless curling irons. The name gives a lot away, they are irons that don't need to have a cord, giving a lot more freedom if you need it.

Other Things to Consider from Your Iron

Of course, there are other things you'll need to consider apart from whether it comes with a cord or not. For example, you need to think about the material they are made from. Some are made from metal, which is fine, but most people tend to think that ceramic is the best option. This is because they won't damage your hair in the same way that metal ones will. These are far healthier for those with dry, damaged hair.

When you choose a ceramic iron, you'll find that you can go a bit hotter and curl for a bit longer without damaging your hair as much. As such, if you find you tend to hold the iron on your hair for a long time, the ceramic option will certainly be better for you in the long term. Try to make sure your stylist also makes use of ceramics.

Creating the Perfect Hairstyle

If you choose the right curling iron for you then you can create a whole range of different hairstyles. The good news is that they are generally smooth and shiny. However, you could also go for a more wavy look by choosing something such as a three barrelled curling iron to create the 'just out of bed' look that many celebrities are going for these days.

So, whether you want corded or cordless curling irons, make sure you look at all of its other features and get one that will really suit the kind of hair you have. You'll be curling away with beautiful hair in no time at all!

Left Handed Irons

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When people hear the words "left handed irons", some may think it refers to the gadgets utilized to iron clothing. Others may simply think there is no such thing; that it is simply one of those jokes used to make one look less than intelligent. I remember once when I was young; my Dad told me to go to school and ask my Shop teacher if I could borrow his "Left handed Monkey Wrench". Like the young naïve lad I was; I went to school and sincerely requested that my shop teacher abide by my Father's request. My shop teacher only laughed and told me he had already loaned it out.

Once back home I apologized to my Father and told him I could not get the tool he had required. Then my Father laughed and told me there was really no such tool at all. I am glad my Dad had a sense of humor and I guess I learned a lesson as well. However, it should be known that there really are "left handed irons" and they are not used on clothing. These are tools of the sort; they are the tools of the left handed golfer.

That is right; golfers who use left hand get to play the course as well. Therefore, they had to have a left handed set of irons that will allow them to be as successful as any right handed golfer could hope to be. Those left handed golfers that want to save par on a regular basis know they need a dedicated set of left handed irons to be competitive. These irons are specifically designed to allow the golfer who uses left hand to play the opportunity to get on that green in a hurry. The only thing he or she has to do is pick the right set of golf clubs for their game.

There are a lot of these type of irons on the market and quite a few well respected brand names in the industry that can deliver upon your expectations. Some of those great brand names are Callaway, Cobra, Nike, Mizuno, Ping, Titleist, and TaylorMade. Each of these companies produces some very fine left handed irons. TaylorMade for example, offers the Burner SuperLaunch Irons made out of both steel and graphite. Both of these irons are designed to allow the left handed golfer to get some distance on that swing.

Another great set is the Nike SQ MachSpeed Irons, which are designed for forgiveness. These irons are designed for speed, stability, and launch. The ball will jump off this club accurately and shoot down the fairway providing distance unimagined. Of course these are only a few of the great iron sets that are available on the market. As a golfer who plays with the left hand; you have to find the clubs that feel right in your hands and live up to your own individual expectations. It is nice to know that those irons really do exist for those who swing the other way.

Freeze Marking Horses

The freezemarking process is a fairly simple one. An identification worksheet is completed for each individual horse noting color, height, sex, age, registration if applicable and all distinguishing marks including whorls, scars, color patterns etc. Laminated cards will be issued with this information as well as the owners name, address and contact information. Once the paperwork is completed, the irons are prepared with the breed registry and number, or the state ID number if applicable by being cooled in a chill box full of liquid nitrogen. While the irons are chilling an area on the horses neck is shaved with a 40 blade and the site cleaned with alcohol. The horse is sedated during this time to give the sedatives time to take effect. Once the irons are ready, the timer is set to the appropriate time and the irons are applied to the horses skin long enough to alter the hair shaft. A perfect freeze mark would have slight balding in the center surrounded by white hair. The site will swell initially, then after a few days will begin to scab over. Eventually as the dead skin sloughs off the site may itch some. Aftercare for the site is as simple as "do not pick the scabs". Once the skin has become smooth again, hair will begin to grow back in. It can take a hair growth season for the hair to come back in white but the marking will be easily visible if the site is kept coarse clipped with a 10 blade. Once the hair has grown back into the marking and the process is completed ...

Flat Irons - Which Plate Width is Best for Your Hair?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Choosing the correct flat iron plate width for your hair length makes all the difference in your hairstyling time. With such a large variety of flat irons and hair straighteners on the market today, you might be wondering which plate width is best for you? The answer depends on your hair length more than your hairstyling needs. Most flat irons come with a standard 1-inch plate width, and you might be tempted, but if you match your hair length appropriately, you'll make the smarter decision.

One Inch for Everyone?

Sure, the 1-inch plate width will accommodate most hair styling needs, but it is really recommended for 'medium' length hair only. If your hair length is past your ears yet above your shoulders, (hint, it isn't considered 'short') the 1-inch plate width is probably your best bet. If your hair touches your shoulders or is longer, you should take your time to find a flat iron with a larger plate width. Not only will it cut down on your styling time, it will eliminate the need for multiple passes with the iron, thus reducing damage. If your hair is above your ears, find a plate width less than 1-inch, yes they do exist. But if your hair is medium length, the 1 inch is perfect for you. Some 1-inch irons you should check out are: CHI Original 1 Inch Flat Iron, GHD MK4 Hair Straightening and Styling Iron, FHI Technique 1-inch Flat Iron.

Long Locks, Larger Plates

For hair that sits on and below the shoulders, or is very thick, A) I'm jealous, and B) you should definitely choose a flat iron that's either 1-1/4-inches or more. I've seen them go as wide as 2-inches and these larger plates are great for creating smooth styles in seconds. Why go over a small section of hair with a 1-inch iron when you can plow through a chunk with a 2-inch bad boy? The styling time you save by using an iron with larger plates will free up a few extra minutes in your day and will reduce the damage you normally cause by going over the same section of hair multiple times. Some of my wide-width wonders are: HAI2 Ceramic 2-1/4 Inch Flat Iron, GHD Ceramic Salon 2 Inch Hair Straightener, CHI Turbo Ceramic 2 Inch Flat Iron, HAI Convertable 1-1/4 Inch Flat Iron.

Short Styles, Slim Widths

Slimmer plate widths are perfect for shorter hairstyles. If your hair is above your ears or if you have bangs, a slim 3/4 inch plate width is perfect for you. When styling hair so close to your skin and scalp you should make sure you have the control a thinner plate width provides. If you hair is only a few inches away from your head, you wouldn't want to go any larger than necessary. Too much hair-to-heat contact will only fry those delicate strands. Plus, if you're a guy with unruly curls, give it a try...(umh, hello SANJAYA), you might be pleasantly surprised! Check out these fab finds: HAI Twig 3/8 Inch Flat Iron, WEE CHI 1/2 Inch Flat Iron, Miniglide.

Though the size of the plates you choose really depend on your personal preference, by taking the time to do a little research, you might find there is a better flat iron more suited for you and your hair length.

Choice Curling Irons And Tips for an Amazing Do

This appliance can give a fabulous appearance with very little time investment. And while it's easy to enhance one's do with the use of a curling iron, not all curling irons are made the same. Regardless of which model you choose, don't forget to spritz your hair with some hairspray, or else they may lose their curl when your night has not even ended yet!

One more useful technique in applying a curling iron is dealing with the hair's ends. Placing them under or flipping these ends a bit wildly will work wonders. A curling iron is an all-around device enough to curl specifically the strands that needed curling in whichever way a person wishes to have. Even if the need is to just curl more small parts of the hair, a curling iron can be successful in curling your whole hair as well. It might be a tedious job for some as a curling iron may consume about five minutes or less to forty-five minutes onwards, depending on the hair type and the intricacy of the style one wishes to achieve.

Our top 4 choice curling irons are:

1. Farouk CHI 1-inch Ceramic Ionic Spring Curling Iron

- 2 barrel that creates large, loose curls

- 25 heat settings to customize the heat to any hair type

- With 60 second fast heat-up

- High-heat - but definitely no heat loss; which stays at set temperature curl after curl

- Glamorous with 24K Gold-plated barrel that heats better and last longer

- Auto-Off

- On indicator light

- It has a cool tip

- Comes with a safety stand

- Tangle-proof swivel cord

- Worldwide Dual Voltage for convenient use when travelin

- New Soft-Grip Handle

- With one-year limited warranty

4. 1 1/2 Jumbo Curling Iron for Hair

Among its features are:

-2 heat settings

-60 second heat up

-comes also with a 24k gold plated barrel

-power indicator light

-conveniently has a safety tip and safety stand with tangle free swivel cord.

Remember:

-Look for a curling iron with not only one but multiple settings. This will allow selecting the enough amount of heat level for the hair.

-That using curling irons for too long or too often can dry out and sometimes burn the hair. Pay special attention to the number of usage each week and potential split ends. Trimming the hair on a regular basis can be a precaution of avoiding the damage to go up to the hair shaft.

-Curling irons come in different sizes. The narrower the barrel, the tighter and lasting the curl.

Your Hair Doesn't Suffer the Effects of Curling Irons

Curly hair is a symbol of beauty and elegance. But you have to spend hours in a salon to get curly hair; moreover it is a bit expensive. Now curling irons help you to reduce the hours spend in salon to minutes. The dollars spendt each time on saloon to beautify your hair is now an old story. Now you have to pay once to get a perm. However this device also has its disadvantages that can be easily eliminated by enriching hair with right protection, good quality hair products, and sufficient vitamins and minerals.

Heat of curling irons is very important, if the heat is beyond the touching limit it may damage you hair as well as scalp. It is also advisable not to use irons every day or for a long time. Long time exposure to heat may lead to loss of moisture and natural oil in your hair. Moreover it will brittle your hair and makes it dull and coarse. The hair care products you use after curling must be of high quality. The top quality products not only make hair healthy and beautiful but also protect it from the harmful rays from sun.

The Downsides of a Curling Iron

Can Custom Fitting Your Golf Irons Help Your Struggle to Break 80?

Do you have trouble breaking 80 consistently? Do you have a repeatable golf swing, but your ball sometimes flies too high or too low, or wanders to the left or right? Perhaps this is happening because your driver and golf irons do not fit you properly. This problem can really affect you especially if you are taller or shorter than average.

The solution could be to get your golf clubs custom fitted. Properly fitted golf irons and drivers just feel better and play better, much like tailor-made clothes feel better and wear better than something bought off the rack. When you play with clubs which are just right for your golf swing, you will make better contact with the ball. You will be able to hit the ball straighter and more consistently than ever before. Custom fitted drivers and golf irons give you a full range to choke up and down the grip for better accuracy. Experienced players report that they can drop their handicaps by two or three strokes in just a month of playing with custom fitted golf clubs.

Will custom fitted golf irons benefit everyone? Not necessarily. If you have not mastered your golf swing techniques sufficiently to get a repeatable swing, then fitted clubs are not for you. In this case, you are better off investing the money in golf lessons for beginners.

That said, you do not need to have a perfect golf swing to benefit from properly fitted clubs. You just need a reasonably repeatable swing. Since everyone has different sized hands, set up their swings differently and with different speeds, custom fitted drivers and golf irons can really help you to make sure that your club hits with the sole parallel to the ground on impact with the golf ball. This is why taller players often get their golf irons bent upright, while shorter players get their clubs bent flat.

The cost of custom fitting can be quite reasonable. Given the cost of playing golf in most places, you can easily cover the extra cost of the fitting by skipping a few rounds of golf. The extra consistency and accuracy you gain, and the added pleasure of playing better is well worth it.

If you have the budget to spare, you may want to consider getting your fitting done by a member of a professional club fitters society rather than your local golf store. At the very least, these people would have better training than the salesman at your golf store. And they definitely would not be biased.

For some of you, a golf shop with trained staff and high-tech golf swing analyzers might be a good choice. Places like Roger Dunn's and Golfsmith do custom fittings as a value-added service - you do not have to pay extra. Just make sure you tell them your budget.

It is true that not everyone can afford new custom fitted golf irons. If you buy second hand golf clubs, you should at least get them re-gripped for your hands. Being able to grip the golf club correctly will go a long way towards improving your golf swing and lowering your golf handicap.

One way to get free custom fittings when buying used golf irons is to attend the demo days of golf club manufacturers. Just check out their websites and go to their next demo in your area. Hit as many clubs as you can and get your fitting. With your written or printed stats in hand, just look for used clubs with a similar setup. Obviously, if you get fitted for Pings, then you need to look for used Ping golf irons.

As you can see, playing with properly fitted golf irons can greatly improve your golf swing. Your clubs will feel better in your hands, and you will hit the ball more accurately and farther. The cost is also quite manageable.
